Hello, and welcome to my website. RANT is basically where I babble on about whatever I want - mostly punk rock, diy culture, anarcho-socialism, and general politics. There are no chats, no guestbooks, no comments sections - just RANTS.

radiation risks: goodbye money (ep, 2017)

Another 7" EP I picked up just based on the cover - mostly because in a sea of black and white hardcore the bright purple really stood out. Radiation Risks is a kickass band who manage to sound raw and spontaneous without giving up an ounce of musicianship.

I've seen them described as a ska band, but the song structures, speed, and attitude are 100% hardcore. The saxophones are light, funky, and most of all fun. This is a band with a sense of humor, no doubt about that, from their unapologetically goofy lyrics to their tongue-in-cheek song titles. Having a badge proudly proclaiming that the EP features "the smash hit Help by The Beatles" might be the funniest bit of punk marketing I've seen in years.

They might not be for you if you're looking for the most aggressive hardcore out there, but if you like fun funk-infused punk that doesn't take itself too seriously this is definitely worth checking out.
